WA’s draft State Infrastructure Strategy has arrived

Western Australia’s draft State Infrastructure Strategy – Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow – was released to a bumper crowd of more than 900 in Perth and online on 21 July.

Another 100-plus people have since attended workshops organised by Infrastructure WA, and I’m pleased to share we have already received numerous comments in response to the 88 recommendations in the Strategy.

From the CEO

Following the release of the draft State Infrastructure Strategy Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow, there has been no time to pause as our public consultation phase kicked into gear.

As part of Infrastructure WA’s consultation on the draft State Infrastructure Strategy Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow we recently held a series of engagement activities aimed gaining an understanding of what young people see as the infrastructure priorities for the State.

The IWA team travelled to Beverley to hold a workshop with the Wheatbelt Student Leadership Forum, a collective of future leaders ranging from class years 6-10.

The final Strategy was tabled in Parliament on 3 August 2022

In February 2023 the WA Government provided a response to Foundations for a stronger tomorrow. You can read the response here.

After more than a year in the making, today marks the release of Western Australia’s inaugural draft State Infrastructure Strategy, Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow.

Infrastructure WA supports the need to deliver the right infrastructure, in the right place, at the right time, in order to grow the economy, create jobs, and ensure Western Australia is a great place to live.
