Who is Infrastructure WA?

Infrastructure WA (IWA) is a statutory body, established under law. Operating under the Infrastructure Western Australia Act 2019 (IWA Act), IWA provides expert advice and assistance to the Premier and WA Government on a range of infrastructure matters, particularly regarding the State's infrastructure needs and priorities.

The Directions for the Strategy is the first step in developing the next Strategy, which is due to the Premier in 2027. It sets the strategic direction by outlining a bold vision and four Focus Areas that will guide research, engagement and recommendations over the next 18 months. 

Building on the foundations of IWA’s inaugural 2022 Strategy – whose recommendations remain active until fully implemented – this paper marks the beginning of a new phase in shaping WA’s long-term infrastructure future.
