State-wide workshop series: What we learnt

A big thank you to everyone who attended one of the workshops hosted by IWA during the past two months.

We visited all 10 regions, hosted 15 different workshops (including three online ones) and were able to hear the views of 450+ different participants.

While we still have a lot more analysis to do, we do know that transport, digital connectivity and telecommunications, energy, industry and governance are all issues that unite people across WA.

A new function: Helping to harness Federal funding

Alongside the early-stage work that IWA has been doing to prepare the State Infrastructure Strategy, we have also recently commenced another legislative function to review and coordinate submissions to Infrastructure Australia (IA), in close collaboration with the Departments of the Premier and Cabinet, and Treasury.

This task involves working with various State Government agencies to progress a number of submissions to IA for consideration, for priority funded and unfunded infrastructure projects.

Watch this space as our work in this area continues to expand and we eagerly await the 2021 Infrastructure Priority List refresh.
